Prayer Flags
I completed several preliminary drawings while visiting the Shoshoni Yoga Retreat in Colorado. These were the beginning of my series, "Prayer Flags". During the same year, I was fortunate enough to visit Tibet and fall in love with the people, symbols, and culture. There are many types of prayer flags, but the ones that spoke to me most were the colorful ones with just the Sanskrit symbols for the compassion prayer. I layered these symbols into my work. In the drawings, I wrote the Sanskrit on top with charcoal.
