Reflections on Sara's Work

Sara’s work depicts a balance of color and design with depth. Her pieces express a range of colors and emotions from dark to light amid riotous design. There is always something new to experience in a room where Sara’s art is displayed.

I don’t claim to know much about art, perhaps especially abstract art, but to me, Sara’s work conveys emotional depth and mindful searching-for answers, for meaning, for something-quest all of us share, even though our individual experiences differ.

Sara Hendrix’s multi-layered work is intensely personal, drawing the observer into her meditative creative process. I love to just sit and enjoy the piece that’s hanging in our dining room. As many times as I’ve looked at it, I never fail to see another aspect; it is fresh and engaging as it is familiar.

In a style that evokes New York Abstract Expressionism at its best; Sara’s art is profound and bold and reminds one of artists such as Kline and Kandinsky but yet is accessible and always recognizable as a Sara Hendrix work. Whether on canvas, paper or any other medium, her works capture the eye and lead it into a journey into the piece. Engaging, beautiful and always surprising!
